About this work

Description

A cock, composed of engraved text in Dutch about Theodorus de Cock and about his predecessor as Catholic Vicar Apostolic, in the Dutch Republic, Petrus Codde. The cock cries "Coc coc coque", wakes up monks and nuns, and defecates Roman Catholic institutions such as the Inquisition, papal infallibility, miracles etc.
