About this work

Description

The mark (here a cross or a plus sign) in an open circle sometimes indicates an exam grade. In this work it may indicate the answer to an AIDS diagnostic test: the person is HIV positive. But why in mottled red? The present logo of the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (2010) uses a similar motif but with, it seems, a different meaning: it is a C followed by the left half of a "+" sign (or the right side of an H), perhaps representing the initials CH for Centre Hospitalier and simultaneously including a cross reminiscent of the Red Cross
