Notes
In this copy of the 1777 ed. (a reissue?) the appendix, i.e. Keir's treatise, is the 2nd ed. of 1779 (replacing the 1st ed. of 1777); the volume also contains the supplement, 'Additions, etc.', published in 1779. Each of these has a separate t.p. and signatures. The treatise (p. xxviii, 120, with a plate) is an expanded version of the article on 'fixable air' which Keir includes among the notes to his 1771 translation. The supplement (78 ll.) consists of new material added by Macquer to the French ed. of 1778. The text of the dictionary has no pagination.
