Traditionally, it was thought that people with left brain styles of thought tend towards logical, analytical approaches whereas people with right brain styles favour holistic, creative approaches. Although language and calculation are typically more lateralised to the left hemisphere, as with all cognitive tasks, both hemispheres are involved to some degree.
