About this work

Description

Nepal; bridge over the Dudh Kosi river, near Ghat (altitude 2900 metres) in the Khumbu region, 1986. This wooden bridge, built by the Himalayan Trust, facilitates the movement of pack animals (the yak is the beast of burden in the Khumbu) through the rugged terrain. The water below is clear but icy cold.
