"Qui Hi lies on a couch, dying, in the prison room depicted in no. 12742 [i.e. in Bombay]. His Indian mistress weeps with her hand on his forehead. The infant plays by a chair. A Mahometan, the doctor's emissary, watches the dying man with raised hands." (British Museum, loc. cit.
