About this work
Description
"Collections of loneliness works with found footage from the internet (similar to the approach of a very light tongue). Prammer archived material from www.amazon.com on the topic of "lifelike" torso masturbators for men. The objects are designed to look as lifelike as real vaginas or torso as possible. The main focus of the artist books not on the masturbators themselves, but on the custumer reviews. Prammer is interested in the specific use of language of these reviews. A lot of the men compare the objects with a woman. Sentences like "not like the original" or "comparable to the real" are regularly used. Also the objects are often address by their product names ("April", "Devon") or "she", instead of "it". "She ist great". "Now that I got her, I don't feel lonely anymore". The artist book focuses on the modern, internet specific use of language (including codes understood only within a certain community), sexuality and questions on online privacy."-- From artist's website.
