Description
A type of ancient head representing an ancient poet or philosopher who appears in etchings by Italian artists such as Rosa, Della Bella, and Tiepolo. It was adopted by the English artist John Hamilton Mortimer, whose work was etched by R. Blyth, as this one was. However this appears to be Blyth's only etching after Della Bella
