About this work

Description

A photomicrograph of a stained section through a patient suffering from calcifying pancreatitis. The exocrine tissues have been eroded by inflammation of exocrine cells. The ducts have become narrowed and blocked by calcium phosphate deposits, which block secretion. Some degree of pancreatitis is present in Type II diabetes.
