About this work
Description
Advertising 'stamp' or gummed sticker possibly intended to be stuck on envelopes, thereby promoting awareness of the Prince of Wales Hospital Fund. The fund was established in 1897, becoming the King Edward's Hospital Fund in 1902, and later known as the King's Fund. Printed in red, showing a mother and three children clinging to her, it is taken from a sheet and, given the price of two shillings and sixpence on it would have been sold to raise funds for the organization. The signature of Albert Windsor is reproduced in a panel at the bottom.
