Description

DVD containing two of Janet Adler's films. Looking For Me (30 min.) shows dance sessions between Janet and two autistic girls, aged two and five. Still Looking (29 min.) was made 20 years after Looking for Me and shows Adler's work on Authentic Movement, an embodied awareness practice. The film features the spontaneous movement experiences of eight professional women.

Notes

Janet Adler has been a dance / movement therapist since 1963. In 1981 she founded and directed the Mary Starks Whitehouse Institute where Authentic Movement was studied and practised. She has published two books: Arching Backwarad (1995) and Offering from the Conscious Body (2002).
