Description
The first part of the video is outlined by a presenter who indicates that the purpose of this film is for the (medically trained) viewer to decide whether the three patients would benefit from nitrate therapy; there is a card which should be marked accordingly. A 48 year old door-to-door salesman is the first patient; he is under pressure. His wife calls the GP; he is transferred to hospital. The second patient is a 55 year old busy housewife; she has discomfort from her stomach/chest to her throat. The last patient is a 65 year old man with poorly controlled hypertension. He feels breathless. He comes back to the surgery a week later and has his medication changed. He returns a month later with a further change in medication. After subsequent visits he says he feels worse. The second half of the film is presented by Dr John Bayliss of the National Heart Hospital who recaps on the individual cases and possible solutions. The first patient would benefit from nitrate. There is not enough information about the second patient; she needs further tests. The final patient may benefit.
