About this work

Description

Intended as a teaching aid for patients and staff new to the field of mental health, this DVD looks broadly at the area of phobia, and focuses on a patient, Rita, who has a bird phobia. Dr. Steve Keen describes how phobia affects us and we see Rita undergo an initial assessment session at Cardinal Clinic with Keen in which she attempts to verbalise how and why her phobia might have started. Rita's bird phobia has led to severe avoidance behaviour, affecting many aspects of her life and relationships. As a result she has also developed depression. We see her successful treatment at the Cardinal Clinic using behavioural psychological techniques. Included are special features, interactive menus and in-depth subject discussion.
