About this work

Description

The man in the photograph is assumed to be Edward Knight, who is listed in the 1920 Medical directory as Director of Cooke's School of Anatomy. The school had been founded in 1870 by Thomas Cooke FRCS (1841-1899), and was located on the corner of Handel Street (then called Henrietta Street) and Henrietta Mews, off Brunswick Square (Morton, op. cit.)

On the back wall, a framed photograph, presumably of Thomas Cooke; and a row of hooks, on one of which is Edward Knight's top hat. Parts of cadavers are placed on the tables
