The next table gives the deaths due to zymotic disease—82 in number and equal to a zymotic death-rate of 3‘2 per 1000—which has not been equalled since 1889. The explanation is found at once by observing that 53 deaths resulted from measles. 1 oi the puipose of comparison the corresponding figures for the preceding four years are included in the table.
