About this work
Description
A short news item about the controversial public display of the Èuthanasia Machine' at the Wellcome Wing at the Science Museum, London in July. Dr Graham Farmelo, at the museum believes that the display will stimulate debate on the subject of euthanasia. He goes on to give a brief description of how the machine works. Invented by Dr Philip Nitschke, it uses a software package called T̀he Deliverance Programme' to inject a lethal dose of drugs through a needle attached to the patient's arm, after running through a series of questions. Dr Michael Harriet-Wilson (?) of the pro-life group Alert argues that the machine is a misuse of science and should not be put on public display.
