Richard Whiteing (1840-1928) English journalist and novelist. Author of Mr Sprouts - His Opinions (1867: collection of satirical sketches first published in the London Evening Star), the novel of London slum life No. 5 John Street (1889), and All Moonshine (1907). Dr Arthur R Waddell MD (Glasgow) of Potter's Bar, Hertfordshire, was his friend as well as medical advisor.
