About this work
Description
The third in a four-part series which pits three different kinds of childcare against each other. Six families with newborn babies are mentored by three childcare experts: Claire Verity is a proponent of the strict routine avocated by 1950s childcare expert Truby King, Dreena Hamilton takes her lead from 1960s Dr. Spock who believed no child could be given too much love and Claire Scott who advocates 1970s method the Continuum Concept in which Western children are brought up using tribal methods of care. For a period of three months the six families are followed. In this part we focus particularly on issues of feeding and bonding, crying babies, sleep problems and breast feeding in public. There are also short clips of the experts in discussion.
