Biographical note

Author's holograph MS, with many corrections. As a physician he complains that the Sisters of St. Vincent de Paul in Riom were treating the sick, though without being qualified by medical training. He proposed the establishment of a Medical School: and that there should be a physician appointed for each 'Quartier', chosen from the senior doctors in the town, to each of whom a younger man should be attached, later to succeed him. The letter from M. l'Intendant de Chazerat to Boirat 1779, which is mentioned on the second leaf is wanting.
