    in which the muscular structure of the heart has undergone degeneration and change. The varying results which clini- cal observations have given is to be accounted for by the fact that the peculiar morbid conditions under which convallaria is useful are not yet thoroughly understood. Not more than one or two full medicinal doses should be given daily on account of the cumulative action of the drug. Before closing I desire to express my obligations to Prof. H.
