Description
A well articulated and structured history of antibiotics with examples from nature about the value of bacteria and molds. It has high production values such as stock footage and good quality animations. The action of antibiotics is described despite the rise of diseases illustrated via animation. Sulfonamides, then bacitracin, streptomycin and polymyxin were all developed as antigonists to diseases. The film outlines the desired therapeutic properties of antibiotics and discusses their application in the treatment of disease. Chemical and therapeutic properties of terramycin are explained in detail. The film is optimistic about the ongoing development of new and effective antibiotics A male doctor is shown examining a small boy, then putting his stethoscope away in his medical case.
