About this work
Description
A music performance by a mythical marching band, 'The Brick Keepers'. 'In the Autumn of 2011 'Laid to Rest' travelled through the streets of London on a horse drawn carriage. Led by the Brick Keepers, the procession went from the Wellcome Collection Euston Road, to Brunswick Square Gardens Bloomsbury, where one layer of this folk object was buried. The rest of the bricks were interred at Crossness Pumping Station Thamsemead [Thamesmead], both points of burial are marked with a plaque.' (Taken from the sleeve notes).
