The meaning of sex : genes and gender.

This DVD contains four lectures given by two leading scientists in the field of sex-determination research. Barbara J. Meyer is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator at the University of California, Berkeley. Her lectures are entitled 'Hermaphrodites: the safer sex' and 'Sex and death: too much of a good thing'. David C. Page is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator at the massachusetts Institute of Technology. His lectures are entitled 'Deciphering the language of sex' and 'Sexual evolution: from X to Y.' Both use animations and demonstrations to illustrate their lectures.
