C19 Chinese ink drawing: Boils - facial boils and tumours

Ink and brush drawing from a handwritten copy of the anonymous text Dingchuang yaojue (Essential Art of Boils), executed in 1874 (13th year of the Tongzhi reign period of the Qing dynasty). It indicates the disease location for mianyan ding (face-cliff boil). This occurs below the cheekbone. If found on the left, it is associated with the liver; on the right, it is associated with the lungs. It is treated with needling and opening (tiaoci), at locations including waifangong (?), the indentation of the earlobe, the indentation at the hairline, dihe (Earthly Union,), yintang (Hall of Seals) etc. Wind-relieving powders (xiaofeng san) are administered orally.
