Description

Lepromatous leprosy (LL): kidney This is a medium power view of a kidney section from a patient with LL. It shows amyloidosis of the kidney, secondary to type 2 (erythema nodosum leprosum, ENL) leprosy reaction. Three glomeruli are hyalinized (homogenous red), due to deposition of amyloid protein. H&E stain.
