    drinks may be fweetened to our tafte with honey, fucc. glycerrh. or liquorice-root boiled in it. Gentle diaphoretics ought not to be omit¬ ted to promote a free perforation, on which a great part of the cure will depend. For this purpofe fp. minderer. with a few drops of vin. antim. and a few of L. Laud, will an- fwer. If our patients are not fo bad as to be confined to bed, we fhould at leaffc cau¬ tion them to flay within doors; but it would be better ftill to advife them to keep in bed to encourage perfpiration. The feet fhould be every night bathed in warm water. This will not only bring the deter¬ mination of the blood from the bronchice, and of courfe relieve them, but a confider- able abforption of the water will be made, and the blood even in this manner, if there be any degree of fizinefs exifiing in it, di¬ luted, and the cohefion of its gluten loofen- ed.
