A nursing recruitment film aimed at school-leavers, demonstrating the broad field careers open to nurses once they have become qualified. Nurses in every sphere of the nursing service, from children's nursing to geriatric nursing, are shown at work, with their own voices forming the commentary of the film. 4 segments.

Segment 1 A female casualty nurse's voiceover is heard talking about her training as a nurse is seen greeting an ambulance and helping a woman with an injured eye. She also talks about treating accidents and dealing with shocked patients. The nurses are seen tending to a badly cut knee and a man with an injured finger. Segment 2 Another female nurse, this time based in a neurosurgery unit, talks about her training and what she does to look after unconscious patients. A district nurse is seen driving and making home visits. She discusses her work at a GP surgery in voiceover as she is seen putting a bandage on a woman at home. Segment 3 Next, a staff midwife is seen in the morning before work. She is with her family and she talks about being a working mother and how working at a clinic means the hours are not too long.
