Description
In the late eighteenth century cavalry regiments decorated their equipment. The horse-cloth was sometimes ornamented; a shabrack was laid over the saddle and holsters. Cloth might be covered with embroidery, gold silver or lace, regimental crests or battle honours. Hussar regiments began to employ sheepskin covers for the shabrack, with leopard or cheetah for officers, as in this case
