Titl: Translation of: Discorsi della vita sobria Cont: With a portrait of the author Bndg: Bound with another work Note: Cornaro’s work was first published in Italian in 1558, and advocates living a sober and moderate life to ensure longevity. Cornaro was in his late thirties and in poor health when he decided to change his lifestyle. He limited his intake of food and drink, and avoided excessive activity or mental strain. It would appear he benefited from his new lifestyle. Cornaro was over eighty years old when he wrote this book
