Boy whose parents were massacred at Garden City, 1865

Information on the back of the photograph reads: 'Son of A.J. Jewett, whose Father, Mother , Grandfather and Grandmother were massacred at Garden City, Minnesota, 1865. This boy was taken by the heels and his head beaten against a log and left for dead. He was found unconscious by my Uncle, Dr. J.W.B.W., who assisted in doctoring his wounds.'
