About this work
Description
Photograph album containing black and white photographs of NIMR buildings. The majority of the album contains photographs of the Mill Hill site of the NIMR, and there are also photographs of the old Mount Vernon site [?] of the NIMR. Photographs are mounted but unlabelled. The album includes photos of the official opening by King George VI in 1950, including photographs of crowds of people and ceremonial proceedings. There are also both exterior and interior shots of the site and building, including the library, laboratories and lecture rooms, as well as photographs of individuals at work.

Ownership note
Provenance unclear as the item was found in the donor's parents' attic, and she was not aware of any connection her parents had to NIMR. It is possible that the album was passed down via the donor's maternal grandmother who lived in Harrow (from 1954 until her death in 1986) and had many friends from all over London, though there is no known relation to NIMR.
