About this work
Description
The last in a three-part series in which historian Dan Snow looks back at the history of three major cities in terms of their public health and hygiene. This part features New York during the industrial revolution. CGI footage shows the filth of the city and Snow describes the corruption and social cramming that went on there. We learn about the deadly disease-carrying parasites that thrived in the buildings, see what kind of cooking might have taken place but also marvel at some of the incredible engineering feats taking place at that time.
