Physical description

1 volume 187 ll. (first bl.). folio. 31 x 21 1/2 cm. Original half sheepskin binding over wooden boards: the two clasps wanting. Margins slightly cropped in binding. Written in a clear gothic script, 39 lines to a page. On the first leaf of the text, floreated marginal decorations. Large decorated initials in colours on ff. 2, 23v, 30, 46v, 49, 52v, 59, 63v, 66, 67v, 69, 83v, 92, 95v, 100v, 112v, 117v, 132v, 138, 144v, 145, 146v, 150, 173. Other capitals, paragraph marks and headings in red. The 'Explicit' on fol. 187v is written within a red pen-drawn scroll. A foliation in pencil has been added.

Purchased 1930.

Biographical note

In the upper margin of fol. 2 is a name written in an early 16th century hand, which may perhaps be deciphered as 'Leobenschberg?. Inscribed inside the upper cover 'Sum Johannis Oberndorfii M.D.' [fl. c. 1600].
