Brown's iron bitters : quality not quantity, purity : the best tonic / [Brown Chemical Co.].

Colour advertising card for Brown's iron bitters. Issued by the Brown Chemical Co. of Baltimore (probably in the 1880s) it shows a jester in a red, green and yellow costume sitting on a wooden box of Brown's Iron Bitters. A single bottle lies in front of it. This copy may have been cut out of a more complete card or it may have been issued in this die-cut form. The bitters were supposed to cure malaria, dyspepsia and 'female infirmities' (menstrual disorders?).
