An enquiry into the uneven quality of geriatric care available in Britain now that the NHS is cutting its provision of long-stay beds and despatching the elderly to private nursing homes which vary enormously in their standards of care. Shows that this is one area in which "patient choice" hardly exists and that there is often a complete disregard for the preferences and even the dignity and safety of the patients.
