Notes
The record sleeve is a veritable 'mash-up' of styles and genres. The front cover features a blond woman (not dissimilar to Doris Day) starring dreamly into the middle distance to one side. The inside sleeve folded out is an utilitarian promotion for the Merck Sharp and Dohme promotion for their branded drug for depression 'ELAVIL' described as a 'leading antidepressant'. The rear cover features an essay on jazz music by Leonard Feather, author of 'The New Encyclopedia of Jazz'.
The vinyl record is available to look at (although there is no equipment to listen to the record) by appointment in the Moving Image and Sound Department.
The record was purchased for the Bedlam exhibition in Wellcome Collection 2016.
