Description

Midwives Tracey Hodgkinson and Hazel Monroe describe their contrasting experiences of supervising home-births. Tracey works at the Homerton Hospital in the East End of London, which is a high risk unit that has to deal with a multinational community. Hazel works in the maternity unit of Lorne and the Islands Disrict Hospital in the West of Scotland which has six beds and ante-natal and poste-natal clinics. The unit has no doctors but is attended from time to time by local GP's.
