About this work
Description
Major Hilary Jones, a nursing officer in the Gulf War, became seriously ill with a variety of symptoms on her return to Britain. Here, she tries to find the reason for her illness and for the disabling conditions affecting many British and US service personnel who fought in the Gulf War. Among the possible causes are exposure to uranium while destroying the enemy's weapons, failure to warn allied troops to don protective clothing in time to withstand a chemical attack, and vaccines adminsitered without prior sensitivity tests or attention to bodyweight, an essential consideration when giving potentially toxic medication.
