    “ in contemplation, are now completed, and the accommodation “ thus added to the Asylum is already occupied by Patients. “ The changes in question have been made in a very judicious “and satisfactory manner and at a small cost; and it is “ expected that the Asylum will be able for a considerable time “ to receive all pauper Patients for whose admission application “ is made. All parts of the Asylum were found in good order “ and very clean, and the inmates were free from excitement “and complaint. Keeping in view the structural defects of “this Asylum and the active movement in its population, a “great deal was seen which reflects most creditably on the “ management. The quality and the cooking of the food again “ attracted favourable notice.” The Medical Eeport and the Tables annexed to it will afford full information as to the Patients who have been under treatment in the Asylum during the past year. The Buildings for the new Asylum at West Green are progressing rapidly and satisfactorily, and it is expected that they will be completed within the time specified in the Contracts. The Architects have furnished the following reports as to the present condition of the work :— “ The Main Building is in an advanced state. Judging from “ the progress already made, it is thought that the works will “ be easily completed within the specified time. “ The whole of the East division, containing all the day “rooms and dormitories for Females, is plastered and glazed, “ and the floors and other finishings in it are in course of being “ put in. “ Of the West division, containing the accommodation for “ Males, the whole of the Mason work, excepting the tower, is “ erected, one-half of it is roofed in, and the other half is in “ course of being roofed.
