About this work
Description
Jacob Needleman (University of California) introduces the programme with a brief history of alchemy; Dr. Albert Hofman of Basle talks about LSD and its use in revealing a reality beyond one's unaided vision; Arnold, Count Keyserling (University of Vienna) discusses everyday reality and its heightened form, ecstasy. How can the Western psyche overcome its isolating self-centredness? How can we restore the lost connection between mind and body and so connect ourselves with the rest of creation? Visual material includes reconstruction of an alchemists' laboratory, crucifiction paintings, chanting buddhists, whirling dervishes and spectroscopes of human and plant auras.
