About this work
Description
Jon Snow and Kate Garraway present a dramatic reconstruction of the history of the government's response to the bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and New Variant Creutzfeld Jakob disease (CJD) outbreaks in Britain. There are reconstructions of meetings of the relevant committees and the evidence of witnesses, with all parts played by actors. The aim of the programme is to expose the lack of communication between committees and the way the government chose to interpret scientific evidence over the risks to humans in eating beef.
