Approved 15 February, 1697 by: Petrus de Calvis, Prior of The College of Physicians, and Joseph Marcobruni, Consiliarius. Further approved 17 February, 1697 by Pietro Gelli, Professor; Angelo Memo, Professor; and Ugo Costa, Professor. Signed by Ettore Tron, Notarius. 1 volume 4 ll. 4to. 24 × 18 cm. [36 × 22 cm.]. On vellum. Original calf-gilt arabesque Venetian decorated binding, with appended red wax seal (defective) in metal case, cover wanting. On the verso of the first leaf is an emblazoned coat of arms in gold and blue. Text in black and gold, within an ornamental border in blue and gold on fol. 2r, and within plain gold rules for the rest of the leaves.

Purchased 1968.

J. Stupanus belonged to a medical family of Italian origin, who migrated to Switzerland for religious reasons: he probably practised at Basle.
