Figures include: Pope Innocent XI (1); at right, Marco d'Aviano (2), the Pope's envoy to the Holy Roman Emperor; on the left, Wilhelm Egon, Fürst von Fürstenberg, the Cardinal-Bishop of Strasbourg (5) giving his blessing; an archbishop appointed by Pope Innocent XI (no. 8: Ferdinando d'Adda?); at far left, Père François de La Chaise, confessor to King Louis XIV (9), whose ear is being insufflated by a devil. On the table, articles of Catholic observance: snakes representing original sin, a ciborium, a print of the Crucifixion, an aspergillum in an aspersorium, etc.
