Notes

This zine was created in response to the archive of Audrey Amiss held at Wellcome (PP/AMI).
"Audrey Amiss (1933-2013) won a scholarship to the Royal Academy School of Art. At the age of eughteen she experienced her first episode of mental ill health and was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. Throughout her life she was in and out of mental institutions, though in more stable periods in her life she worked as a typist. She lived in South West London with her Mother until the latters death and from then on lived a semi-reclusive lifestyle. The collection contains examples of Audrey's art, notebooks and 300 food packaging scrapbooks annotated with notes by Audrey on her daily life and her views on a wide range of abstract subjects."--Page [5].
