One of a series of victorian trade cards issued by Foster, Milburn & Co. to advertise their Dr. Thomas' Eclectric Oil which was supposed to cure: colds, asthma, coughs, catarrh, sore throat, rheumatism, lameness, aches, sprains, pains. There are 9 testimonials to this effect. The illustration shows a young girl with rosy cheeks and a mass of golden curls in a white smock, broad-brimmed red hat surrounded by a gold background. The oil was found to contain: spirits of turpentine, camphor, oil of tar, red thyme and processed fish oil.
