Description
Six part documentary series on the biological, epidemiological, medical, social and psychological aspects of HIV and AIDS worldwide -- Part 4: The Quest for Control. Dr Andrew Moss examines some of the more controversial of the various measures proposed to limit the spread of AIDS, and the dilemmas they pose for medical ethics and civil liberties. -- Part 5: An African Perspective. Contrasts the Western experience of AIDS with that of Africa where, in many countries, the disease has already reached epidemic proportions among the heterosexual population. Highlights the inadequacy of most urban African health facilities to deal with the scale of the problem -- Part 6: Being Positive. Shows how a group of 8 adults, 4 of whom are HIV-positive, attempt to confront their various fears and prejudices when compelled to live together in close proximity in a remote location in Scotland.
