About this work
Description
Diploma of Hungarian 'Indigenatus', signed by Francis I, Emperor of Austria: in Latin. Calligraphically written in italic script, on the title-page a pen-drawn double-headed eagle with emblems, text within decorated borders. At the end of the text is the signature of the Emperor 'Franciscus', and below the signatures of Princeps Franciscus Kohary (i.e. Prince Franz Joseph von Kohary [1766-1826]), and Josephus Stettner. On the last page is the signature of Matthias Sztankovits, Director of Registers and Archives. Produced in Vienna.

1 volume 8 ll. (last bl.). folio. 351/2 × 29 cm. On vellum: crimson velvet binding, with green and white silk ties, and appended red wax seal in a flat round brass case (diameter 15 cm.): in the original metal container.
