Description
How does the NHS decide which life-saving drugs to fund and which to refuse to buy? Eric Rutherford has myeloma, cancer of the plasma of the blood, and without the drug Revlimid will die. Science writer Adam Wishart follows Eric's story as the National Institute for Health and Clinical Medicine (NICE) decide whether or not they will fund the drug - they are shown during the decision-making process. Wishart finds himself torn between understanding the difficult decisions of the NICE and seeing how hard it is for people dying of myeloma to accept these decisions.
