Invoice torn from a pad of similar sheets advertising Armour & Co.'s beef extract, manufactured in Chicago, Illinois. A line illustration of the pack is in the upper left corner and there is a line illustration of three women cooking, the central one showing the other two the product, finger raised as if in hearty recommendation of it, printed in pale brown under the text.

Notes

James Stenhouse, family grocer and wine merchant, 229 & 231, Hawkhill, Dundee. There is a Dundee in Illinois, but the prices written on this are in pounds, shillings and pence, which indicates that it is probably Scotland where there is indeed a street called Hawkhill.
