Description

Section through the subcommissural organ in the brain of a developing mouse embryo (E18.5). Pax6 (red) is located in the secretory cells. The subcommissural organ is a gland in the brain involved in balancing body fluids. It is one of the circumnventricular organs and is formed from secretory radial glial cells.
